My friends and I were driving through summerland, going back home to Kelowna, when we realised it was lunchtime and we were all starving. It was a sunday in February, and almost everything in town was shut down. We drove down one of the streets in downtown Summerland, and saw this sign for a Japanese bistro. The sign outside was cute, but the most important thing to us was that it said OPEN. We went in with not too high expectations, because honestly, the Asian food selection in Kelowna was not the best. We got  seated quite quickly, because there was absolutely no one in the restaurant. The Okanagan is quite a seasonal region, and February is probably the most quiet of times to visit. 
The menu was expansive with some interesting dishes, the sushi pizza particularly caught our eye. So we quickly ordered our meals, and watched the pretty street outside. After what felt like ages (I'm not sure if it was really a long time or we were just starving!)our appetizers came. I tried takoyaki for the first time and was so impressed by it! My friend with a braver palate ordered it, and let me steal one. Afterwards, I wished I had ordered a plate for myself haha. He'd had takoyaki a few times and rated it not the best, but certainly up there. The sushi pizza was actually really good, although I had no idea what to expect, so I wouldn't know the difference, I suppose. 
For the main course I had some ramen, and the portion size was so big, it was difficult to finish. I also forget that I don't love ramen as much as I think I do, so it almost always disappoints me.

Indian food is simply unbeatable. It doesn't get any better than this!
